the ocean, the waves and the water

thoughts behind

inspired by the buildings of ancient roman cities, by the beauty and timelessness of finely proportioned architectural arches. arch pays homage to the shape and construction of aqueducts.

conceptually, the design of this bench is based on a cuboid that is intersected with horizontal half-cylinders. the different orientation of the individual volumes is the special feature of this object. this creates elongated arches, interesting surfaces and exciting plays of light and shadow.

despite the regularity of the concept, the bench always opens up new views and details from every angle. arch is made exclusively from solid wood, which is glued into a block and then milled into shape. the color of the varnish – ultramarine blue – is based on the theme of the aqueduct, water and the waves of the sea. it gives the object a fresh appearance and a very sculptural character.
