showroom and gallery space
the place where the magic begins.
a thinking space, showroom and communication space.

concept

the starting point of the project was the desire to create a place that makes things possible. a place that offers space for new ideas and visions, dialog with interested parties, conversations about space, materiality, detail, art and craftsmanship. a place that becomes a stage for sophisticated art & design, creative concepts and the launch of new projects.

a showroom for new ideas. the first step was to dismantle the space. the ceiling and column cladding made of wooden boards had to go, as did the tiled floor and the non-load-bearing interior walls.

what emerged was roughly formed concrete – this raw, untreated structure and materiality captivated us. the genuine, original and untreated became the symbol and theme of the room.

process

the new, seamlessly poured concrete floor was installed by hand, paying homage to the existing structure. the light grey wall acts as an intermediary between the floor and ceiling, providing space for samples and drawings of all kinds and allowing the existing radiator to charmingly disappear. the adjoining floor-to-ceiling curtain fabric divides the room into two areas and brings diffuse daylight into the rear area.

a sculptural work and presentation table is the center of the room. this is where sketches are made, plans discussed, materials selected and ideas presented. two heavy stamped concrete legs form the base – on which the fine, black-stained mahogany top rests. the attractive contrast between the raw, untreated building material and the fine, handcrafted finish of the wooden panel makes the different components stand out even more.

a powerful place has been created that radiates grandeur and provides space for inspiration and good ideas.
