new spaces for living,
an experimental building made of stacked honeycombs in the east of munich

concept

the compressed honeycombs offer a completely new sense of space, freedom, openness and generosity. the interior supports the spatial geometry and takes this concept to its logical conclusion.

the basic principle of the design is a universal system that enables many uses and supports the flexibility of the honeycombs. metal strips that grow out of the horizontal joint take on a wide variety of functions in the room. they illuminate, hold, present, serve and guide. they mediate the space with the individual pieces of furniture and objects.

process

the reduced color palette supports the spatial experience and is pleasantly restrained. the materials used have various tactile surfaces that stimulate the senses. glossy surfaces have been completely dispensed with, which leaves a very honest and high-quality impression.

an interior design that coherently complements and enhances the built space. this study was created in collaboration with the architecture studio peter haimerl.
